What Free Channel installations do you offer?
We install four different Free Channel installations: FTA / FreeSat, FTV, FreeSat HD and FreeSat+ HD.
FTA / FreeSat and FTV installations are the standard Free Channel systems - the difference between them is the quantity of free channels available - see Free Channels for more information.
FreeSat HD offers all the standard FreeSat channels and also those broadcast in HD (High Definition). FreeSat+ HD additionally includes an incorporated hard drive, allowing the user to record, rewind, fast-forward and pause live TV, as well as recording one channel whilst watching another. No monthly subscription or any additional payments are required for any of the Free Channel installations.
I want UK TV and live in a flat. Do I need to ask permission from my community before installation?
Usually yes. At SmartSat our policy is to place the dish so it will not be seen from the street or by other residents. Sometimes installation on your own roof terrace or balcony is possible, thereby not inconveniencing neighbours. Nevertheless, it's always a good idea to inform other residents before installation. We'll let you know the best place for the dish at initial call out.
I want UK TV but may be moving soon. Will you re-install the system at the new address?
Yes. Provided you use SmartSat for the initial installation we will charge only a modest fee for relocation.
I want UK TV now. How long does installation take?
At SmartSat we can usually install the system with around 3 days notice. The actual installation time varies but is normally between 2 and 4 hours.
How can I pay for installation?
We accept cash, cheque and VISA / MasterCard. We do not accept payment by installments.
Is all the equipment new?
Yes. At SmartSat we only use brand new digiboxes / satellite receivers, dishes, cable and fixtures.
Do the digiboxes / satellite receivers come with a guarantee?
Yes, all digiboxes, FreeSat and FTA receivers carry a 12 month guarantee. Digibox problems are very rare; however if you have any problem with your receiver in the first 12 months it will be replaced free of charge.
I have a dish - can you provide a digibox / FreeSat / FTA receiver?

I have my own digibox / FreeSat / FTA receiver. Can you install the dish and cabling?
Yes we can. Contact us for more details.
Can I connect more than one TV to the system?
Yes, SmartSat can arrange this for you, although additional equipment is needed. Contact us for more details.
I'd like UK TV installed in my office. Do SmartSat provide this service?
Yes, we've installed many systems for offices - whether you need a central sound system, or a multiple TV install we can help. Contact us to organise a free site survey and quotation.
Can I receive US satellite in Spain?
No, apart from those channels simultaneously broadcast in Europe (ie CNN). Satellite technology is simple - because of the shape of the world it's impossible to receive channels which are being broadcast to a different continent.
Do SmartSat also install other satellite systems?
Yes, we also install French, German, Italian and Dutch FTA systems. Contact us for more details.
What is HD (High Definition)?
HD or High Definition TV is a revolution in TV broadcasting. Most plasma and LCD screen TVs on sale nowadays are HD compatible, which means that with the right equipment you can get better picture quality, and higher definition, more vibrant images from your television.
